About Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day a day celebrated globally on differ date by different countries to honor, respect and say thank you to the armed forces who have made innumerable sacrifice for the country, including their personal lives.

The day is marks by flag hoisting, military display of stunts and arms and a cheering crowd. It is a day which brings the common man and army men nearer.

Armed Forces Day in United States started in 1949 with the view to consolidation of the military services in the Department of Defense. Every year, Armed forces day is celebrated on every 3rd Saturday of May, and the entire week is called Armed Forces Week.

Australia and New Zealand, celebrates its Armed Forces Day on 25th April, popularly known as Anzac Day. In Canada, Canadian Forces Day is the first Sunday in June and is strictly a celebration of Canada's armed services, their heritage, and their personnel. In Uk armed forces day will establish its beginning on 27th June 2009.
